“What I want to convey as a woman and as a mother” 〜Message from the Runner〜

2026.10.26 マドレボニータ

Hello!

Tokyo Marathon 2027 Charity
This is Yamashita, a volunteer staff member for Madre Bonita's public relations team 🌷

At the Tokyo Marathon 2027 Charity, 13 people from Japan and 30 people from overseas will run together as Madre Bonita's charity runners 🏃‍♀️

In preparation for the event in March, we have received messages from our charity runners expressing their thoughts and feelings about participating in the Tokyo Marathon 2027 Charity as Madre Bonita's charity runners 💌
Starting now, we will introduce each of the messages we have received.

The first person we would like to introduce is SILVANA, who will be participating from Uruguay.

SILVANA says that running was an important source of support for her during a difficult time both physically and mentally after giving birth.

Having run for many years and completed five World Marathon Majors, the Tokyo Marathon 2027 Charity marks the final step towards a long-held dream for Silvana.

What does Silvana want to convey as a woman and a mother?

Please read her passionate message to the very end 💐

As a 52-year-old woman, mother of two children, and a lifelong runner, when I learned about the mission of MadreBonita, I felt a deep connection with the values your organization represents.

My journey as a mother has not always been easy. Both of my children were born by cesarean section due to complications during childbirth, and the postpartum period was physically and emotionally demanding.

Running became an important part of my recovery. Step by step, it helped me regain strength, confidence, and a sense of myself beyond the challenges of motherhood. It showed me that even after difficult moments, we can rebuild ourselves and discover strengths we never knew we had.
As a mother, I hope my journey demonstrates to my children the value of perseverance and the importance of caring for both physical and mental well-being.

Today, after many years of running, I have completed five World Marathon Majors. Tokyo represents the sixth and final step in a dream that has accompanied me for many years. For someone traveling from Uruguay, Tokyo has always felt especially distant and challenging to reach, which is why it has become the most meaningful marathon on my journey.

As a 52-year-old woman and mother of two, I hope my story can inspire other women to understand that caring for themselves and pursuing their dreams is not selfish—it is a way of becoming stronger for themselves and their families.

I would be honored to support and represent the mission of MadreBonita and share your message with the running community in Uruguay and beyond.

When I read this message, what struck me most was this sentence:

Even after going through difficult experiences, people can rise again and discover strength they didn't even know they had.
I know firsthand that giving birth places a huge burden not only on the body but also on the mind of women.

In such a situation, when life revolves around childcare and many things have to be given up, it's easy to feel frustrated and lose sight of your true feelings.

However, SILVANA's message taught me that by overcoming such difficulties, you can discover strength you didn't even know you had.

I sincerely hope that SILVANA's thoughts and lessons learned as a woman and mother will reach many people through this Tokyo Marathon 2027 charity.

Next time, we will continue to introduce messages from runners that we have received at Madre Bonita 💌
Messages from runners are also published on Madre Bonita's official Instagram and Facebook.

Please check them out as well ☺️
