Hello,
We are Peace Winds Japan, a certified non-profit organization and one of the official charity of the Tokyo Marathon 2027 Charity.
私たちは日本の犬の殺処分をなくすことを目標に、保護・譲渡活動を行う「ピースワンコ・ジャパン・プロジェクト」を運営しております。
Through our Peace Wanko Japan Project, we are committed to eliminating the euthanasia of dogs in Japan by conducting rescue and adoption activities.
東京マラソン2027チャリティのエントリー期間が終了し、今年はピースウィンズ・ジャパンから427名のチャリティランナーが出走してくださることになりました。
With the close of the Tokyo Marathon 2027 Charity entry period, we are honored to share that 427 Charity Runners will be participating in the race on behalf of Peace Winds Japan this year.
たくさんのランナーの皆さまがワンコへの想いを胸にチャリティに応募してくださいました。
本日はランナーの方の想いを、一部ご紹介させていただきます。

初代愛犬はうちへ来た翌日に病気を発症しました。購入店に「返品交換」を勧められたことがきっかけで色々調べて保護犬の存在を知り、今は三頭目の保護犬（元繁殖犬）と暮らしています。マラソンは40歳で始めました。遅いけど必ず完走します。保護犬と東京マラソンチャリティ。私にとって最高の組み合わせです。
My very first dog fell ill the day after joining our family. When the pet shop suggested I simply 'return and exchange' him, it led me to look into the issue and discover the world of rescue dogs. Today, I am living with my third rescue dog—a retired breeding dog.
I took up marathon running at the age of 40. I may be slow, but I will definitely finish the race. Rescue dogs and the Tokyo Marathon Charity—for me, it’s the ultimate combination.

私はゴールデンレトリバー2頭と妻・子供と暮らしています。殺処分に関する御団体の取り組みに感銘を受け、以前に毎月寄付を行なっておりました。私にできる事は限られていますが、走ることによって、殺処分が1頭でも減り、人を助けてくれる犬が育ってくれるのであれば、これに勝る喜びはありません。
I live with my wife, our child, and our two Golden Retrievers. Moved by Peace Winds Japan's dedication to ending euthanasia, I used to support the organization through monthly donations. While what I can do on my own is limited, nothing would bring me greater joy than knowing that my run helps save even one more dog from being euthanized and supports the training of dogs that help people.

私は犬を深く愛しています。彼らは賢く、優しく、忠実な存在です。何の罪もない犬たちが命を奪われている現実に心を痛めています。帰宅時に愛犬が嬉しそうにしっぽを振って迎えてくれる瞬間、私の一日は最高のものになります。この寄付で1頭でも多くの命が救われるなら本望です。
犬は全身で愛を表現してくれます。悲しみに暮れる人の隣に静かに寄り添い、ただそばにいるだけで温もりと癒しを与えてくれる、それが犬という存在です。災害や大切な人との別れで心にぽっかりと穴が開いてしまったとき、犬はその愛で心の傷を優しく埋めてくれます。東京マラソン2027チャリティでピースウィンズの一員として走り、この素晴らしい活動を支援できることを心から光栄に思います。
I love dogs. They are intelligent, tender, and loyal companions. It saddens me to hear that they are being killed for no good reason. My whole day is made complete when I come home to the enthusiastic barking and wagging tail of my little dog. If my small donation can spare the life of one dog, it will be worthwhile.
Dogs know love and they respond to love with their whole being. They are tremendously intelligent and can be taught many wonderful tasks. Sometimes just sitting with a person feeling sad or lost, a dog can show love by providing companionship, tenderness, and warmth by being present for that person. Letting that person hold them and pet them without expecting anything in return, is in their very nature. When people experience loss, whether it is a person or a disaster, there is a tremendous hole in their lives. Dogs fill that void if people will open their hearts and allow themselves to accept the love that a dog could bring into their lives. It would be my honor to support your cause by representing your organization in the Tokyo Marathon 2027 Charity. Thank you for your consideration.

昨年旅立った愛犬キトラを偲び、彼女との思い出を胸にピースウィンズのチャリティランナーとして走りたいと思っています。
幼少期から保護犬を迎えて育ち、どんな境遇の犬も愛と温かい家庭を得る権利があることを学んできました。犬たちの気高さや無償の愛、そして人が前を向く力を与えてくれる存在であると実感しているからこそ、保護犬にセカンドチャンスを届けるピースウィンズの活動に深く共感しています。
走る情熱を通じて活動を広く発信し、人と犬の温かい絆を讃えながら、支援を必要とする動物たちの未来に少しでも貢献できることを心から楽しみにしています。
I would be honored to run as a Charity Runner for Peace Winds because the mission resonates deeply with me on a personal level. Last year our last dog, Kitra, who we adopted from the Spanish national deaf association, passed away, and I would love to run to remember her.
Growing up, dogs were always part of my family. Rather than purchasing pets, we adopted dogs through friends and local organizations, including connections with the deaf community in Spain. These experiences taught me from an early age that every dog deserves love, care, and a safe home, regardless of their circumstances.
Dogs have always impressed me with their loyalty, resilience, and capacity for unconditional affection. They are truly noble animals, and I have seen firsthand the positive impact they can have on people’s lives. This is why I am so moved by the work Peace Winds does to rescue, protect, and support vulnerable animals. The organization’s commitment to giving dogs a second chance and improving animal welfare aligns closely with values that have been important to me throughout my life.
Participating as a charity runner would allow me to combine my passion for running with a cause I genuinely care about. It would be a privilege to help raise awareness and funds for Peace Winds’ vital work while honoring the special bond that so many of us share with dogs.
I am excited about the opportunity to represent Peace Winds and contribute, even in a small way, to creating a better future for animals in need.

ランナーとして限界に挑む苦しみは、暗闇で助けを待つ動物たちの声なき苦しみに比べれば何でもありません。行き場を失った犬たちに『未来のヒーロー』としての命を吹き込み、災害救助犬やセラピー犬へ育てるピースワンコの活動に深く心を打たれました。
単に完走メダルのためではなく、保護犬たちに生きるチャンスと未来を届けるために、全国殺処分ゼロへの願いを込めて東京の街を全力で走り抜きます。
Every runner knows the pain of pushing through the hardest miles, but that is nothing compared to the silent struggle of an abandoned animal waiting in the dark. As a runner, I believe that every step we take can bring meaningful change to the world. That is why I am proud to support Peace Winds Japan—an organization that not only humanitarianly serves 41 countries globally, but also dedicatedly heals domestic communities from Tohoku to West Japan.
What deeply moves my heart is their 'Peace Wanko Japan' project. They look into the eyes of forgotten dogs and see not a burden, but a future hero, transforming vulnerable strays into brave disaster relief and therapy dogs. Their miraculous 'zero kills' achievement in Hiroshima proves that love, when backed by action, can rewrite destiny.
Having received so much inspiration from Japan, running the Tokyo Marathon is my way of giving back—by running to support their 10-year vision of achieving zero slaughter nationwide. I am not just running for a medal; I am running to give these beautiful souls a second chance to breathe, to love, and to save human lives in return. Let my heartbeat on the streets of Tokyo be the rhythm that carries them to a safer tomorrow.
