東京マラソン2026チャリティでジョイセフに寄せられたご支援は、ザンビアでのジェンダーに基づく暴力（GBV : Gender-based Violence）、そして日本における性暴力を防ぐための活動に活かされます。

世界では今なお、意図しない妊娠、安全でない出産や中絶などにより、多くの女性が命を落としています。また、女性は3人に1人の割合で、生涯に一度は暴力を経験するとされます。

ジェンダーに基づく暴力（GBV）は、身体的・心理的・経済的など、さまざまな形で、特に女性の尊厳と自己決定権を傷つける人権侵害です。中でも性暴力は、物理的な命を奪わずとも、人として生きる根幹を壊してしまうことから、「魂の殺人」と呼ばれることもあります。

The generous support provided to JOICFP through the Tokyo Marathon 2026 Charity will help advance two initiatives: addressing gender-based violence (GBV) in Zambia and working to prevent sexual violence in Japan.

Around the world, many women still lose their lives due to unintended pregnancies and limited access to safe childbirth and abortion. It is also estimated that one in three women will experience violence at least once in her lifetime.

GBV is a human rights violation that harms dignity and undermines the ability to make decisions about one’s own life. It can take many forms — physical, psychological, or economic — and disproportionately affects women. Sexual violence, in particular, can profoundly damage a person’s sense of self and safety, and is often described. in Japan as a crime that can affect the very foundation of a person’s life.


ザンビア：ジェンダーに基づく暴力をなくす
Zambia

ザンビアのカピリ・ンポシという地域では、家庭内暴力や10代の予期しない妊娠、子宮頸がんを引き起こすヒトパピローマウィルス（HPV）感染が深刻な問題となっています。ジョイセフの現地調査では、女性の約9割が心理的・身体的・経済的な暴力を経験しており、その多くが身近なパートナーからの被害です。

さらに近年、世界各地で女性支援を担ってきたアメリカの政府開発援助機関（USAID）の資金援助が急速に縮小したことで、性暴力被害を受けた女性や少女が、医療・心理・法的なケアにつながれない状況が広がっています。

支援の空白が生まれているまさにその場所で、ジョイセフは学校と連携した若者ボランティアの養成、性暴力や望まない妊娠を防ぐための啓発活動、学校で女の子が安全に使えるトイレや水の整備（井戸・水タンク）などに力を入れていきます。

In Kapiri Mposhi, a district in Zambia, domestic violence, unintended teenage pregnancies, and human papillomavirus (HPV) infections, which can lead to cervical cancer, remain serious concerns. According to JOICFP’s local research, approximately 90% of women reported experiencing psychological, physical, or economic violence, often inflicted by a partner or someone close to them.

In recent years, funding from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), which has long supported programs for women and girls worldwide, has delined abruptly. As a result, access to essential medical, psychological, and legal services for survivors of sexual violence has become increasingly limited in many communities.

In response to this widening support gap, JOICFP is strengthening its work in partnership with local schools. Efforts include training youth volunteers, raising awareness to help prevent sexual violence and unintended pregnancies, and improving access to safe sanitation facilities for girls at school, such as toilets, wells, and water tanks.

日本：性暴力をなくす　
Japan

性暴力と聞くと、「自分や身近な人には関係なさそう」と思う方もいるかもしれません。でも、日本で性暴力は決して珍しいことではありません。政府の調査（男女共同参画白書2023年度）によると、女性の8.1%が望まない性的な行為の被害を経験しており、認知された件数だけでも年間2700件を超え、前年比で約64%増加しています。

しかもその多くは、家庭・学校・職場など、身近な人間関係の中で起きています。被害を受けても声を上げるのが難しい構造の中で、長年「見えにくい問題」とされてきました。

さらに今、デジタル空間を通じた性被害も拡大しています。たとえば、性的な画像を送らせた後、拡散を脅しに使って金銭やさらなる画像などを要求するセクストーション（性的脅迫）。近年SNSを通じて急増しており、対象は女性に限らず、ある支援団体の被害相談では、相談者の約7割を男性および男の子が占めています。非常に悪質な犯罪で、自殺者も出るなど、世界的に社会問題となっています。

多様化する性暴力に対し、法律面での対応は少しずつ進められていますが、地域による支援の格差や予防教育の不足は非常に大きな課題です。ジョイセフは全国の自治体・議員と連携し、「加害者にも被害者にもさせない」という視点で、地域に根ざした啓発・性教育の機会づくりを進めています。

When people hear the term “sexual violence,” some may feel it does not relate to them or to those close to them. However, sexual violence in Japan is far from rare. According to the Japanese government’s White Paper on Gender Equality 2023, 8.1% of women report having experienced non-consensual sexual acts. More than 2,700 cases are officially recognized each year — an increase of approximately 64% compared to the previous year.

Many of these incidents occur within familiar relationships, such as in the home, at school, and in the workplace. In social environments where speaking out can be difficult, sexual violence has long remained an issue that is often unseen and underreported.

Today, sexual harm is also expanding in digital spaces. One example is sextortion, in which perpetrators coerce victims into sending sexual images and then threaten to distribute them unless further images or money are provided. Cases have increased rapidly in recent years, particularly through social media. Victims are not limited to women; according to one support organization, approximately 70% of those seeking advice for sextortion cases are men and boys. It is a deeply harmful crime and has become a serious global concern.

While legal responses to the evolving forms of sexual violence are gradually progressing, significant challenges remain, including disparities in support systems across regions and limited opportunities for preventive education. In collaboration with local governments and policymakers across Japan, JOICFP is working to expand community-based awareness and sexuality education, with the goal of preventing people from becoming either perpetrators or victims.
