東京マラソン2024チャリティ「Run with Heart」を通じて、皆さまから温かいご寄付を賜りましたこと、心より御礼申し上げます。2024年4月から2025年3月までで、465頭の殺処分寸前の犬を保護し、626頭の保護犬を新しい家族に繋げることができました。本報告では、主な活動成果についてご紹介させていただきます。

西東京ふれあい譲渡センターをオープン
2025年1月18日（土）、医療・地域交流施設「LIFE MEDICAL CARE いずみ」（西東京市）内に、10拠点目となる「西東京ふれあい譲渡センター」を開設しました。
このセンターは、ドッグランやふれあいスペース、トリミング設備を備え、譲渡会・イベント・オンライン配信などを通じて、より多くの方に保護犬と触れ合う場を提供。地域の人々と犬たちをつなぐ、新たなコミュニティ拠点として期待されています。
常時10〜15頭の保護犬がトレーニングを受けながら新しい家族を待つ体制を整え、地域の方に「保護犬を家族にする選択肢」をぐっと身近に感じていただける場になりました。

全国初！刑務所と連携した保護犬育成プログラム
2024年12月13日には、広島矯正管区の刑務所と連携した「保護犬育成プログラム」をスタート。
人馴れ経験の少ない元野犬を刑務所内でのトレーニング対象とし、受刑者との共同作業を通じて、犬の社会化と受刑者の更生支援という、人と犬の双方を救う新たな取り組みです。
このプログラムは全国初の試みで、刑務所の受刑者たちの“心のケア”や社会適応力向上にも寄与すると期待されています。

東京マラソンチャリティを通じた皆さまのご支援により、”最後の砦”として殺処分寸前の犬たちを保護し、新しい家族に繋げる活動だけでなく、これらの拠点開設や新プログラムの実現が可能となりました。
日本の犬の“殺処分ゼロ”を目指して、各地で活動するスタッフ・ボランティア一同、引き続き現場で命を守る取り組みを続けてまいります。東京マラソンRun with Heartにご参加／ご支援くださったランナーおよびサポーターの皆さまのおかげで、命を救い、未来を繋ぐ事業が加速しています。

We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude for the generous donations we received through the Tokyo Marathon 2024 Charity “Run with Heart.”
Between April 2024 and March 2025, we rescued 465 dogs who were on the verge of being euthanized, and found new adoptive families for 626 rescue dogs.
In this report, we would like to share the major activities that contributed to these outcomes.

Opened the Nishi-Tokyo Fureai Adoption Center
On Saturday, January 18, 2025, we opened our 10th adoption facility, the Nishi-Tokyo Fureai Adoption Center, inside LIFE MEDICAL CARE Izumi, a local medical and community center in Nishi-Tokyo City.
This new center features a dog park, an interaction space, and grooming equipment. Through adoption events, public gatherings, and live-streamed sessions, it provides many people the opportunity to meet and bond with rescue dogs. It is expected to serve as a new community hub, connecting local residents and dogs.
We maintain a steady number of 10 to 15 dogs at the center, where they receive training while waiting for a new home. This creates a welcoming environment for local people to consider adopting a rescue dog as a family member.

Japan’s First Prison-Based Rescue Dog Training Program
On December 13, 2024, we launched Japan’s first rescue dog training program in collaboration with correctional facilities under the Hiroshima Correction Bureau.
This program focuses on former rescue dogs who are not yet used to people, and trains them inside prison grounds in partnership with inmates.
It is a mutual support initiative that helps both dogs and people — while the dogs undergo socialization, the inmates are also supported in their rehabilitation and emotional well-being.
This pioneering program is expected to have a positive impact on inmates’ mental health and social reintegration, and has been recognized nationwide as a new model in animal welfare and human rehabilitation.

Thanks to your support through the Tokyo Marathon Charity, we were able to rescue dogs on the brink of euthanasia — serving as their last lifeline — and help them find new families.
Moreover, it allowed us to open new facilities and launch innovative programs such as the prison collaboration.
With the goal of achieving zero euthanasia of dogs in Japan, our staff and volunteers across the country continue to dedicate themselves to saving lives on the ground.
