Supporting athletes that can shine on the world stage
Hopes are high for excellent performances by numerous athletes at the Olympic Games that will be held in Tokyo in 2020. I want these athletes to shine on various world stages. The tremendous encouragement and support people share contribute to the success of each and every athlete. I also want to provide support so that more sporting environments and opportunities are created, enabling even more children to enjoy sports!
I'm M Takashi—what we call an "impressionist athlete comedian" in Japan. Each marathon is a unique, once in a lifetime event. I cherish all of the bonds I form with the people I meet.
I am a former member of Komazawa University Track and Field Club (ekiden team manager.) After graduating, I worked in a care facility before debuting in 2011 as an impressionist athlete comedian (a comedian who does impressions and participates in athletic activities.) I caught people's eyes with my impressions of Yuki Kawauchi, and I've been a guest runner and MC at marathons across the country. I visit nursery schools, schools, and care facilities, entertaining people with my unique "impressionist exercises." Every day, I refine my craft so that I can become an entertainer that puts smiles on the faces of men and women, young and old alike.
I want to spread the chain reaction of smiling faces created by running!
I learned from marathons, that running puts smiles on people's faces. Those smiles give others the power to run further, and this running even contributes to society. Every experience I've had when running has been irreplaceable. Sports rely not only on the people that participate in them, but in those that cheer on and support the participants. They are something everyone can enjoy. I hope that I can share this message while I enjoy running.
”RUN” is to try to harmonize together, even you are alone when you run.
For being yourself, let’s start to run together.
I've been active in music journalism for 30 years, focusing on rock.
I've produced major music festivals for 20 years, and work every day to create spaces for new musical expression.
Living is running. Running is expressing yourself. Expressing yourself is rock. I live my life to the fullest.
The Tokyo Marathon is more than just marathon. It's more than just a sporting event. It is the very energy that binds people together. I want to link that energy to music and people so that people can enjoy this new power.
